"Sometimes it just slips out Mom!"

So today we went to see a orthopedic specialist for Alec's leg. Two doctors were in the room discussing with me the problems and possible treatments. All of a sudden the LOUDEST, LONGEST fart I have ever heard comes out of MY son who is laying on the exam table. He looked up at me with a red face and said,"Sometimes it just slips out mom!" The doctors were so proud of him they began to dish out a ring of high-fives and congratulations! Alec is busting up laughing and I'm apologizing and laughing. One of the doctors leaves the room and then comes back with a football. He gives Alec the gift and exclaims, "Any one who can fart like that deserves a prize." Is this one of those "pay days" as a parent? I think not, but it sure was funny.

Bring on the twinkies, pixie sticks, ring pops, dorritos, big league chew and White Rain hairspray. It was great to find out who everyone's 80s heartthrob was and their favorite 80s music. Also remember the great cartoons of the 80's-Jem, The Littles, Smurfs, He-Man, and TMNT?! Thanks for the fun night and remember to put down your rubik's cube, spray your bangs, and turn up that Tiffany song blarin from your boombox.

Savy is 12!

Savanna is an old women now.....not really but it sure does make me feel old. I can't believe my little girl is all grown up and in Young Women's now. For her "big" 12th birthday we decided to do a "detective" theme birthday. Wow was it fun making the preparations and having all the girls there. They had a birthday mystery to solve and "detective in training" games to play. Here is everyone in their sneaky disguises. I bet you can't tell who they are:)

Let's see....they went on a treasure hunt, had a gift exchange, played a memory game, played indoor/outdoor hide-n-seek, learned how to hone in on their detective senses with a smelling game, played virus, ate nachos, ate cake and ice cream, and made their own Nancy Drew detective movie that is HILARIOUS!! I think they had fun and learned some new detective secrets. Kids are great.

Scout Project

Here is the completed soap carving project for Alec's Bear Den in Scouts. It took him only 2 days to complete. I think it is great. That boy has football on the brain 24/7! Needless to say, he now wants to carve all the soap in the house because it is the only time I let him use his pocket knife. I don't know about you but, I am thinking neighbor gifts this year for Christmas:)
